How Are You?

I remember that before the implementation of this community quarantine I was looking for ways to expedite my robotics class so the students would not miss the major lesson on devices before the end of the quarter. Planning my lessons was how my weeks revolved back then. I had relished the thrill and excitement of having everything fall into place according to plan. I somehow knew that our country would be affected by the pandemic and that measures on how to slow down the progress of the infection would be imposed. Regardless of which course of action the authorities would take, work was still the center of my attention.

Although I had the faintest idea that a quarantine is possible, I had not actually anticipated its eventuality. Now here I am constrained to a limited space and left wondering if it would ever end. And if it does end, how certain would my family and friends come out of it intact or less wounded? I am sorrowed by the families who got their answers early on. And so I ask, how are you?

Just like the rest of the people in this world, I miss many things.

To my friends who live alone, residing in an apartment away from their families, how are you?

To my siblings living together in a unit in Makati and Navotas, how are you?

To my dad living a ship away in the south, and to my mom up north, how are you?

To my best friends living in Manila and Taguig, how are you?

I MISS YOU GUYS.
