Garcia's Pure Coffee Baguio City

Hey there coffee lovers! Have you been to Baguio Public Market for a fresh ground coffee? If not, try Garcia’s Pure Coffee. It is located at the inner section of the market not usually frequented by tourists who are buying pasalubong. Just go further from the usual pasalubong stores and there you’ll smell it - the irresistible aroma of roasted coffee beans wafting heavily throughout the area. The rich scent and invigorating odor without a doubt command the attention of anyone passing by; afficionados, casual drinkers and abstainers alike.

Hmmmm… Expect a crowd of coffee buyers. But don’t worry, the crew's got everything under control and you’ll get your bag of coffee in time.
Once you ordered and received your receipt, like the guy wearing red-striped shirt on the left (holding a yellow receipt), you’re fine. Wait for any of the kuyas in the shop to call your customer number. Hand him your receipt and he will grind and pack your coffee as ordered.

How to Order

First step: Choose your coffee

They have different varieties of regular,  special and even flavored coffees. The price depends on the variety you fancy and it's definitely less than P400 a kilo. As for me and my partner, we always choose barako (liberica)!!!

Step 2: Place your order at the counter. You may need to line up depending on the number of fellow customers present. Don’t skip this step because no one will call you. You must get your customer order number at the counter.

Step 3: Wait for your customer number to be called. While doing so, you may stay at the corner and observe the locals in the area, or you may just stand in front of the shop and watch as the kuyas prepare the orders.

Hmmmmm…. Smells so good! I can’t wait…

This is us!! My partner and I while waiting for our customer number to be called. It was fun witnessing how our coffee was being prepared. Have you ever wondered how that was all done? Well, this one was real coffee and you are assured that nothing extra was added to it. All therein, was just pure awesomeness!

Alrightyyyyy!!! We’re happy now! 15 – 20 minutes of waiting was worth it! There’s our 3 kg of kapeng barako! I was hoping that’s going to last long in the kitchen!
Make sure to bring your own echo bag specially if you are buying a lot. You will receive your coffee in a paper bag wrapped in plastic sheet. It’s hard to carry them around when you have other things to purchase at the other stores. There are enterprising locals who sell echo bags in the area though.

I have been to Baguio public market a lot of times already but I have never experienced buying fresh coffee beans and have it ground on the spot. It was a different feeling, I'll definitely love my coffee more!! 😃🍞☕☕
